The Sd.Kfz. 8 was a heavy half-track vehicle widely used by Germany during World War II. Its primary function was as a heavy artillery tractor, for example, the Mörser 18 210mm howitzer, the Kanone 18 150mm cannon, and the FlaK 38 105mm anti-aircraft gun. Approximately 4,000 were produced between 1938 and 1945. It was widely used in various theaters of World War II, including the invasion of Poland, France, the Balkans, the Eastern Front, North Africa, Normandy, and Italy.
